I don’t like Pembrey! There is just something about the place. Everyone else including Rich loves it. I hate it. It’s probably cause Richie’s welsh that he likes it so much. Well, plus the fact that it put me in hospital last year!

Again we had a practice day there on the Friday. Started a little wet, but nothing major happened. I let Roo Cotton have a blast on my bike during practice. He rides for Dennis Trollope Racing on a TZ250 Yamaha ‘moped’! We work together at Poole Motorcycles, and the week before we were discussing the fact that other than a CB500, he’d never ridden a four stroke before. Now Roo can ride a bike, he doesn’t hang around, just to give you an idea, I lap Pembrey at about 1:10, he can do it on his bike about 1:02! So the deal was to let him ride mine if he showed me some tips (he’s been racing for over 4 years + motocross). He did 10 laps on my R6, best lap 1:06! Shit, I’ve got some work to do.

Race day, Saturday. Again I spent the evenings in a guesthouse with Heather, whilst Rich had chez Transit! 600cc race 1, 29^th. 600cc race 2, 19^th. Open race 1, 30^th. Open race 2, 27^th.

Race day, Sunday. 600cc race 1, 28^th. 600cc race 2, 11^th! Mega, just a couple ahead of Richie, best finish this year so far, chuffed to bits. Open race 1, 26^th. Open race 2, 20^th. So all of my Sunday results are better than Saturdays. We’re going in the right direction. The only thing that got to me was that my lap times were no better than when we were here for practice in March. Oh and I finished 27^th in Sundays Novice Open race. Glad to come away unscathed with a few more R6 miles under my belt.
